Fort Myers Tip-Off Bracket Revealed, Pirates to Face Ohio State

Fort Myers, Fla. – The 2021 Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off brackets have been revealed, and the Seton Hall men's basketball team will take on Ohio State in the semifinals of the Beach Division on Monday, Nov. 22 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College. The game will be nationally televised on FS1 with game time to be announced at a later date. In the other semifinal matchup, Florida will face Cal.
This will mark the first matchup between Seton Hall and Ohio State since Dec. 20, 2003, when the Pirates topped the Buckeyes, 75-59, at the Meadowlands. Ohio State holds a 3-2 all-time edge in the series with wins over the Pirates in 1960 at Madison Square Garden and in 1995 and 2002 in Columbus, Ohio. The Hall's other win over Ohio State came on Jan. 26, 1992, a 68-64 victory at the Meadowlands.
On Wednesday, Nov. 24, Seton Hall will play against either Cal or Florida. The Pirates last faced California in the 2016 Pearl Harbor Invitational in Honolulu, Hawai'i, a 60-57 Pirates win. They last played Florida in the 2016 AdvoCare Invitational, an 81-76 Gators victory.
Seton Hall is 14-5 in its last 19 early-season, multi-team event (MTE) games, including winning the 2014 Paradise Jam Tournament title and the 2018 Wooden Legacy Tournament title.Â
Prior to arriving in Fort Myers, Seton Hall will also host a Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off game against Yale, a member of the tournament's Palms Division, on Sunday, Nov. 14.
