The Pirates will open the season with a three-game series at North Carolina from Feb. 18-20 before heading to Miami to take on Florida International from Feb. 25-27. In March, The Hall will play two more series against Sunshine State foes — Florida Gulf Coast from March 4-6 and Florida from March 11-13 — and will make a trip to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State (March 18-20).
A highlight of the non-conference schedule will be a trip up from Macon, Ga., by Mercer as they will play a three-game set at Mike Sheppard, Sr. Stadium at Owen T. Carroll Field from April 1-3. The Bears are one of the top programs in the Southern Conference and last made an NCAA Regional in 2019. The Pirates will also face in-state foe Rutgers for the first time since 2017 in South Orange on May 3 at 4 p.m.
In BIG EAST play, the Pirates will host key series against Xavier (April 8-10), Connecticut (April 14 doubleheader, April 16) and St. John's (May 6-8). The final home weekend of the season will take place on May 13-14 against Villanova. The Pirates went 12-6 at "The Shep" last season.
The Pirates were picked to finish fifth in the BIG EAST, one point shy of fourth place St. John's, and bring back unanimous Preseason All-BIG EAST selection Will Gale (Scotch Plains, N.J.). Seton Hall is coming off of a 2021 campaign where it went 16-11 in the BIG EAST and made its 10th consecutive appearance at the BIG EAST Championship, the longest active streak in the conference.
Seton Hall baseball's annual First Pitch Dinner will be back on campus in Bethany Hall on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Seton Hall baseball legend Marteese Robinson. Robinson was inducted into the Seton Hall Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002 and his No. 9 is retired and displayed inside Mike Sheppard, Sr. Stadium at Owen T. Carroll Field.
