Loeffel Paces Pirates at BIG EAST Championships

Attleboro, Mass. – John Loeffel (Queens, N.Y.) paced the Pirates at the 2022 BIG EAST Championships at Highland Park on Saturday morning. Loeffel finished the 8k course with a time of 25:42 to be the top Pirate finisher for the fifth time this season.
Behind Loeffel was Stephen Beaman (Johnston, Iowa) who ran a time of 27:01 in his first BIG EAST Championships. James Loeffel (Queens, N.Y.) rounded out the top three Pirate finishers with a time of 27:09.
Patrick Wagner (Jenkintown, Pa.) battled his way through an injury late in the race, as he was able to fight his way to the finish line to be the fourth Pirate to finish. Following Wagner was Declan Harkness (Stewartsville, N.J.), who completed the course with a time of 27:33.
Also competing at the BIG EAST Championships for the Pirates were Nicholas Minikel (Milltown, N.J.), Justin Allone (Holtsville, N.Y.), Andrew Walde (Edmonds, Wash.), Logan Brunozzi (Churchville, Pa.) and Daniel Washburn (Syracuse, N.Y.).
The Pirates will have some time to gear up for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals set to take place on Friday, Nov. 11.
