The Pirate point guard erupted for 35 points in Seton Hall's lone game last week.
NEW YORK – Seton Hall senior Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Â
The Pirates only had one game last week, but Seton Hall's senior point guard was brilliant as usual. Park-Lane erupted for a game-high 35 points in The Hall's 78-72 victory at Fordham on Saturday. Park-Lane was at her best when the Pirates needed her most, scoring 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting in the fourth quarter alone. She was 12-for-26 overall, 3-for-6 from three-point range and 8-for-11 from the free-throw line. Park-Lane also had five assists, which leaves her one shy of Ka-Deidre Simmons' Seton Hall career record.
Â
Her 35 points were only three shy of Seton Hall's single-game record. It's her eighth career 30-point game and the third this year. Park-Lane needs only 26 more points to become only the eighth player in Seton Hall history to reach 1,500 career points.
Â
DePaul's Darrione Rogers was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Georgetown's Kennedy Fauntleroy earned Freshman of the Week honors. In addition to Park-Lane, members of the Weekly Honor Roll include UConn's Aaliyah Edwards, Marquette's Rose Nkumu, St. John's Jayla Everett and Villanova's Maddy Siegrist.
Â
Seton Hall will return to action on Wednesday when it resumes BIG EAST play at Connecticut. Tip time is scheduled for Noon ET. The game will be televised by SNY and available for FloSports subscribers. Wilnir Louis and Joe Matthews will provide the call for WSOU FM.
