Park-Lane snaps the BIG EAST single-season assist record with 13 today.
CINCINNATI – Three Pirates scored at least 18 points and Lauren Park-Lane (Wilmington, Del.) broke the BIG EAST single-season assist record as the Seton Hall women's basketball team defeated Xavier, 74-53, in the regular season finale on Tuesday.

Seton Hall never trailed and completes the regular season with a 12-8 BIG EAST record, despite starting 3-7. The Pirates power into the postseason winners of nine of their last 10 games.

Park-Lane finished with 13 assists, which sets a new BIG EAST single-season record at 152. The Pirates' point guard bested the prior record of 147 set by Providence's Shanya Evans during the 1990-91 season.

Senior Sidney Cooks (Kenosha, Wis.) collected a double-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Junior Mya Jackson (Wilmington, Ohio) had 20 points on the strength of four made three-pointers. Andra Espinoza-Hunter (Ossining, N.Y.) tallied 18 points to go with five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

The Story:
Leading 21-16 early in the second quarter, The Hall went on a 9-0 run, fueled by a pair of three-pointers from Jackson, to give it a 30-16 lead with 6:15 to go before halftime. Ahead 33-24, Espinoza-Hunter connected on three-pointers on back-to-back possessions to extend the Pirates' lead to 39-24 with just 2:22 to go before the break. The Hall took a 39-26 lead into the locker room.

The Pirates shot 53.3% from the floor in the first half and drained six three-pointers, including a three apiece from Espinoza-Hunter and Jackson.

Xavier cut the Seton Hall lead to eight points with 3:42 left in the third quarter, but the Pirates ended the quarter with a flurry. The Hall went on a 9-0 run, which included seven points by Park-Lane, to give it a 56-39 advantage with 49 seconds to go before the fourth.

Seton Hall scored the first six points of the fourth quarter, and its lead never got lower than 16 points the rest of the way.
