O'Neill Selected as BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week

NEW YORK – Senior right-handed pitcher Brennan O'Neill (Morristown, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week following his solid outing in the series finale against No. 11 Florida, the conference office announced on Monday.
In the Pirates 6-4 road victory against eleventh-ranked Florida, O'Neill racked up a career-high nine strikeouts over five innings. Pitching in his third game this season, O'Neill held the Gators to just three runs on four hits and one walk, throwing 83 pitches in the process.
O'Neill scattered two hits through his first three innings of work, punching out six of first 11 batters he faced. This is the first conference weekly honor for O'Neill and the first for the Pirates this season.
The Hall will be back in action later this week as they will travel to Stillwater, Okla., to kick off a four-game series with Oklahoma State starting on Thursday. The Cowboys currently sit at No. 11 on D1Baseball.com's Top-25 list, having reached as high as four on that list earlier this season.
