South Orange, N.J. — Seton Hall men's basketball graduates Sandro Mamukelashvili (Tbilisi, Georgia) and Jared Rhoden (Baldwin, N.Y.) excelled at NBA Summer League in Las Vegas while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings, respectively.
Mamukelashvili, who is entering his second season with Milwaukee, was one of the top performers in the field and was named All-Summer League First Team. He averaged 17 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in five games while shooting 45 percent from the field and 47.6 percent from the three-point line. One of Mamukelashvili's best performances came against the defending Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics when he dropped 28 points and collected nine rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks.
An All-BIG EAST First Team selection as a senior in 2020-21, Mamukelashvili played in 41 games with three starts for the Bucks as a rookie on a two-way contract. He averaged 3.8 points in 9.9 minutes per game, shot 49.6 percent from the floor and 42 percent from beyond the arc with the Bucks and averaged 20.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game in the NBA G League with the Wisconsin Herd.
A standout during the pre-NBA Draft process, Rhoden signed on to play with Sacramento's Summer League squad and he made the most of his opportunity. The 2021-22 All-BIG EAST First Team pick played in all five Summer League games for the Kings where he averaged 25.3 minutes, 11.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals per contest. He also shot 50 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.
Rhoden looks to become the 30th Pirates alumnus to play in an NBA game and the fifth since 2016. Seton Hall head coach Shaheen Holloway coached all four of the Pirates that have reached the NBA over the last six years when he was associate head coach from 2010-18.
