
Fouratt Pacing Pirates After Two Rounds at Penn State

The Hall is currently 11th in a competitive field at the Nittany Lion Invitational.
STATE COLLEGE, PA. – Graduate student Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.) had a strong second round and has paced the Seton Hall women's golf team to an 11th place standing after 36 holes of the Nittany Lion Invitational on Saturday.

Fouratt struggled in round one, settling with a 7-over-par, 79, but bounced back mightily in the afternoon. The Pirate captain had four birdies and an eagle on the par-5, No. 9 hole to fuel a 1-under-par, 71, in round two. Through two rounds, she's tied for 29th place with a 6-over-par, 79-71-150.

As a team, Seton Hall shot a 17-over-par, 305, in the first round, but was also able to improve collectively in round two. In the afternoon, the Pirates shaved off three strokes to finish with a 13-over-par, 301. Currently, they're 30-over-par with a 305-301-606. Host Penn State leads the field at 5-under-par. Seton Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, Butler is currently in seventh place at 22-over-par.

Freshman Ashni Solanki (Melbourne, Australia) turned in the best round of her young career with a 3-over-par, 75, in round one today. In the afternoon, she only added two strokes to finish with a 5-over-par, 77. She's currently tied for 42nd place with an 8-over-par, 75-77-152.

After two rounds, Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) and Ludovica Busetto (Padova, Italy) are tied at 11-over-par. Sarrias Pro had a 7-over-par, 79, in round one, but used 12 pars and a birdie to shave off three strokes in round two. She's currently 11-over-par with a 79-76-155. Busetto had two birdies in round one to fuel a 6-over-par, 78, and 13 pars in round two to improve with a 5-over-par, 77, in round two. After 36 holes, she's 11-over-par with a 78-77-155.

Junior Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) was excellent in round one, using four birdies to power a 1-over-par, 73. In round two she struggled on the front nine and was sunk by a triple-bogey on the par-4, No. 16 hole, on her way to a 12-over-par, 83. She's currently 12-over-par with a 73-83-156.

Two Pirates were playing as individuals in their first collegiate tournaments. Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) had three birdies today and is currently 20-over-par with an 84-80-164. Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) had two birdies and is 25-over-par with an 85-84-169.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Penn State, the field is comprised of 14 other teams including:  Boston College, Bradley, Bucknell, Central Michigan, Columbia, Eastern Kentucky, High Point, Kennesaw State, Navy, Richmond, Toledo, Towson and Youngstown State. Also in the field is BIG EAST opponent, Butler.

THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE SCHEDULE:
The field will play two continuous rounds (36 holes) on Saturday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., and a single, final round on Sunday. Sunday's shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. Seton Hall will be paired with golfers from Eastern Kentucky and Columbia for the first two rounds.
