Dawes Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

South Orange, N.J. - Senior guard Al-Amir Dawes (Newark, N.J.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following a week where he averaged 19.5 points per game and shot 57 percent from three-point range (8-of-14) in a 2-0 week for the Seton Hall men's basketball team.
Dawes shot 50 percent from the field (12-of-24) and cashed in on all seven of his free throws. Defensively, Dawes averaged two steals per game for The Hall.
In Tuesday's win over Georgetown, Dawes dropped a career-high 24 points (21 in the second half) and shot 5-of-9 from deep. At one point, Dawes scored 15 consecutive points for the Pirates. In Saturday's win at DePaul, Dawes scored 15 points, dropped three triples and recorded three steals. Dawes' threes came early on and helped the Pirates get off to a hot start, and two of his four made free throws helped ice the game in the final seconds.
Dawes and the Pirates return to Prudential Center this week for two key home games, first against Connecticut at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday followed by Marquette on Saturday at 4 p.m.
