Klimaszewski Named BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Michael Klimaszewski (London, England) has been named BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Male Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday. This marks the second consecutive week in which a Pirate has received the honor.
Klimaszewski picked up three individual victories on top of a pair of relay wins this past weekend against NJIT and Delaware. In both meets, the freshman claimed the top spot in the 100 Fly, doing so in 48.27 on Friday and in 48.78 on Saturday. Those times are the fourth and fifth-fastest in the even among BIG EAST swimmers this season, respectively, and Klimaszewski now owns four of the five fastest times in the 100 Fly in the conference. He also picked up a victory in the 200 Fly on Saturday against the Blue Hens in a time of 1:51.00. Klimaszewski swam as part of relay victories on both days, helping win the 200 Medley Relay on Friday and the 400 Free Relay on Saturday.
The Pirates have their final tune up before the BIG EAST Championships this Saturday as they host Georgetown at 12 p.m. at Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium.
