- Two teams jockeying for fifth place in the BIG EAST standings will square off on Saturday as Seton Hall travels to Storrs to take on No. 20 UConn at 12 p.m. on FOX.
- After starting 0-3 in BIG EAST play, the Pirates are now 9-7 and in fifth place in the league standings, one game ahead of the Huskies in the in the loss column with four games to play.
- Both teams were 4-4 in the BIG EAST and tied for fifth place in the conference entering their first meeting of the season on Jan. 18 before the Pirates came from 17 points down in the first half to defeat the No. 15 Huskies, 67-66.
- The Hall has won four of its last five BIG EAST road games and it's one of four BIG EAST schools with at least five road wins, joining Marquette, Providence and Xavier.
- Seton Hall has played one of the most difficult schedules in the country as KenPom ranks the Pirates' slate as the 19th toughest in Division I and its NET SOS ranks 29th.
- Seton Hall leads the BIG EAST in scoring defense (64.4 ppg) and field goal percentage defense (40.9 pct) while ranking second in three-point defense (30.5 pct).
- In BIG EAST play, Seton Hall ranks third in scoring defense (66.9 ppg) and 3PT defense (32.3 pct) while ranking second in FG defense (43 pct).
- Seton Hall has held five opponents to under 50 points this season, its most since 1951-52 (7).
- The Pirates rank 15th in KenPom adjusted defensive efficiency.
- The Pirates are 14-2 this season when they hold their opponents to under 70 points.
- In Holloway's last 38 games as a head coach, his teams have allowed just 62.5 points per game and only 11 opponents have scored more than 70 points.
- Graduate student KC Ndefo (Elmont, N.Y.) is the anchor of Seton Hall's defense and he has the most blocks of any active player in a power conference with 364.
- Ndefo ranks second in the BIG EAST and ranks 21st nationally with 54 total blocks this season.
- Senior Tyrese Samuel (Montreal, Quebec) is coming off of back-to-back double-double performance at Villanova (14 points, 10 rebounds) and on Tuesday against Georgetown (15 points, 10 rebounds).
- Junior Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) leads the Pirates in rebounding (5.8 rpg) and assists (4.8) in BIG EAST play and ranks second in scoring (12.6 ppg).
- Senior Al-Amir Dawes (Newark, N.J.) is averaging 17 ppg and shooting 44 percent from deep (13-of-36) in his last five games.
- The Pirates are 14-5 when Dawes scores in double figures.
