
Heim, Waggoner Break School Records on Day Four

First up was Waggoner, who took home a first-place finish in the 1650 Free with a time of 16:31.50. Her time broke the previous program record by over 17 seconds, and surpassed her previous best time in the event by nearly 22 seconds.

In the 100 Free, Heim raced her way to the top of the podium with a gold medal-winning time of 50.15. The time tops the previous record which Heim set at the WVU Invitational earlier this season. Lea Moeller (New Lenox, Ill.) also earned a medal in the event, taking fifth place in 51.21.

Laura Stavila (Oakland, Calif.) competed for the Pirates in the Championship Final of the 1-meter dive. The junior took home a fifth-place finish in the event with a total score of 445.95.
To round out the meet, the 400 Free Relay team captured a third-place finish. Heim, Cornelia Jerresand (Taeby, Sweden), Leiya Istambouli (Danbury, Conn.) and Moeller combined for a time of 3:24.43.
The Pirates finished the BIG EAST Championships with 1,002 total points, ranking them fifth overall.
