
Seton Hall Posts Another Strong Academic Semester

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Student-athletes at Seton Hall University continue to set an example for academic excellence. With all grades from the Fall 2022 semester recorded, The Hall's combined cumulative GPA is now 3.496.  All 14 varsity teams have both a cumulative GPA above 3.1 and posted a 3.0 GPA or higher in the fall semester.

In addition, 155 student-athletes made the Seton Hall Dean's List during the Fall 2022 semester, representing 57 percent of the student-athlete population. To achieve Dean's List designation, Seton Hall students must achieve a 3.4 GPA or higher during the semester.

"Our student-athletes come prepared every day to learn and compete, and the proof is in the numbers; they are phenomenal in the classroom," said Seton Hall Director of Athletics Bryan Felt. "It is impressive to see that more than half of our student-athletes made the Dean's List, and that once again all of our teams are above 3.0. Congratulations to all our student-athletes are their academic commitment and achievement, and thank you to our administrators, coaches and support staff for their effort in maintaining our academic excellence."

All 14 programs currently boast cumulative GPAs above 3.1 with women's golf leading the way at 3.817. Men's soccer has the highest GPA among the male sports at 3.640.

In the Fall 2022 semester, the Pirates combined for a 3.425 semester GPA with women's golf leading all teams at 3.812 and men's soccer leading all the male teams at 3.502.

Men's basketball, the department's highest-profile team with wins in seven of its last nine games, continues to boast a strong academic profile, completing the fall season with a cumulative GPA of 3.154.

Women's basketball, which is poised for another lengthy post-season push, has maintained an impressive 3.147 grade point average.

Seton Hall supports its student-athletes with outstanding mentoring and tutoring, led by the Academic Support Services staff, and offers its student-athletes a state-of-the-art learning environment in the Charles W. Doehler Academic Center for Excellence, which consists of a main study area, group meeting spaces and private tutoring rooms.
