NEW YORK –Seton Hall juniors Devin Hack (Somerville, N.J.) and Chris Shine (South Plainfield, N.J.) were named to the BIG EAST Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Â
Hack was the offensive catalyst for the Pirates in four games last week. The centerfielder led The Hall with a .538 batting average, drove in three runs and stole a pair of bases as the Pirates went 3-1.Â
Â
Hack saved his best performances for BIG EAST play, going 7-for-10 in the three-game series against Georgetown. On Thursday in the series opener, he was 2-for-3 with an RBI, a double and a sacrifice. In game one of Saturday's doubleheader, Hack belted out two more singles, and saved his top effort for the series finale. In game two, he went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a double and a stolen base.
Â
Shine turned in his finest start of the season in arguably the most important game of the year thus far. The right-hander scattered only two hits over five scoreless innings in the rubber game of Seton Hall's BIG EAST-opening three-game series against Georgetown. Shine got the win in The Hall's 4-0 victory and struck out seven batters with only one walk.
Â
Seton Hall will return to action on Tuesday when it makes the short trip to local non-conference rival Rutgers. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on B1G+.
