
Viera Named To Brooks Wallace Award Watch List

South Orange, N.J. - Junior shortstop Max Viera (Greenwood Lake, N.Y.) has been named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, which is presented to the nation's top shortstop.
Viera leads Seton Hall this season with 24 RBI, 44 hits, 12 doubles, 67 total bases, a .508 slugging percentage and 18 stolen bases on 20 attempts. He's also tied for the team lead with a .333 batting average and is tied for second with three home runs. Defending his position, Viera has posted a .965 fielding percentage and has been a part of 17 double plays. He was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on April 3 and he helped lead the Pirates to their first BIG EAST win of the season after going 4-for-5 at the plate with four RBI against Georgetown on April 6.
