
Pirates' Year Finishes With Final Strokes at BIG EAST

Ana Sarrias Pro had a team-best 74 in round three. The Pirates placed fifth as a team.
HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Sophomore Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) carded the top Pirate round of the tournament and the Seton Hall women's golf team finished fifth at the 2023 BIG EAST Championship on Wednesday.
Sarrias Pro had five birdies and seven pars in route to a sterling 2-over-par, 74, in round three. She was 1-under-par through 15 holes, but bogeyed the final three to settle for 2-over. For the tournament, Sarrias Pro tied for 16th place with a 21-over-par, 79-84-74-237.
As a team, The Hall improved once again on Wednesday, shooting a 20-over-par, 308, but it slipped to a fifth-place team finish. St. John's was just 12-over-par in round three to edge the Pirates for fourth place. Xavier won its fourth consecutive title at 29-over-par. Georgetown was second at 44-over-par, while Creighton finished third at 54-over-par. St. John's was just three strokes ahead of the Pirates at 78-over-par.
The top Pirate for the tournament was Sarah Fouratt (Santa Maria, Calif.), who was playing in her final collegiate round. The graduate student had two birdies and 13 pars on Wednesday for a stellar 4-over-par, 76. Fouratt placed just outside the top-10, settling for 11th with a 17-over-par, 82-75-76-233.
Also playing in her final collegiate round, Ludovica Busetto (Padova, Italy) also shot a 7-over-par, 79, on Wednesday. For the second straight day, the senior had an eagle on the par-5, second hole. She also birdied her final collegiate hole, carding a "4" on the 18th hole. For the tournament, Busetto was 23-over-par with an 83-77-79-239.

The field was limited to only the six member schools of the BIG EAST Conference. Below are the teams in order of their by their Golfstat ranking.
For the fourth straight year, Xavier earned an automatic berth to the 2023 NCAA Championship. Creighton's Katherine Lemke received an NCAA Championship invitation as the BIG EAST's individual champion.

Freshman Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) improved for a second straight day. She was 1-under-par through six holes, but struggled down the stretch and finished with a 9-over-par, 81.
