
Pirates Welcome TSU Transfer Micah Gray

Gray was named SWAC Freshman of the Year in 2022-23.
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella announced today the addition of Texas Southern transfer Micah Gray (Oklahoma City, Okla.) to the program.Â

Gray will suit up for the Pirates this fall and have three years of NCAA eligibility remaining.

"Micah will be one of the most dynamic guards we have had," Bozzella said. Â "She was one of the top freshman scorers in the country and we are very excited to have her in the program."

Gray burst onto the collegiate scene as a freshman last year for Texas Southern University. The 5-foot-8 shooting guard was named Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC) Freshman of the Year and earned Second Team All-SWAC status. Gray led TSU and finished third in the SWAC with 16.7 points per game and ranked seventh in field goal percentage (.342) and fifth in free throw percentage (.795).  She also proved her prowess from long-distance, ranking fourth in three-point field goals per game (1.9).

Gray had seven of the SWAC's top 25 scoring performance this year, including the top two with a high of 41 points at UAPB and 33 points at UCF. Â She also made a SWAC-best seven three-pointers at UAPB and had 10 games with at least 20 points, including 30-point games. Â Gray was also named SWAC Player of the Week twice and SWAC Impact Player of the Week once.

Prior to TSU, Gray was a 1,000-point scorer for Classen SAS in Oklahoma City. An All-State honorable mention, she helped lead Classen to the Class 4A State Championship in 2022 and waws named All-City Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
