
Pirates Add Cornell Transfer Shannon Mulroy

The graduate transfer point guard will join The Hall for the 2023-24 season.
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall women's basketball head coach Anthony Bozzella announced today the addition of Cornell transfer Shannon Mulroy (Mount Laurel, N.J.) to the program.Â

Mulroy is a graduate transfer and will spend her final year of NCAA eligibility in South Orange.

"Shannon is a quality player and a great person, and we're super excited to welcome her to the Seton Hall family," Bozzella said. "She brings a high basketball IQ and will undoubtedly bolster our backcourt for the 2023-24 season."

A two-year team captain, Mulroy has been a regular contributor for the Big Red for the last three years, starting in 66 of the team's 78 games. For her career, she's averaged 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 28.9 minutes per contest. A long-distance threat, the 5-foot-8 guard has connected on 85 three-pointers over the last three years and has shot 71% from the free-throw line.Â

Last year, Mulroy started all 27 games for Cornell and led her team in assists and minutes per game. She reached double-figures in scoring nine times and had a season-high 16 points to go with six assists against Binghamton on Nov. 30. As a freshman, she erupted for a career-high 27 points against Columbia.

Prior to Cornell, Mulroy was a standout at Lenape High School where she was named 2019 Olympic Conference Player of the year and First Team All-South Jersey. She guided her team wo the South Jersey Group 4 Championship in 2016 and 2019.
