8/31/2023 9:18:00 PM | Women's Soccer
The Pirates (3-2) out-shot the Explorers, 11-6, and didn't let La Salle get a shot of in the second half. The loss snapped Seton Hall's three-match win streak.
How It Happened
La Salle's first goal came in the 12th minute and it followed with two more scores in the next 15 minutes to take a commanding 3-0 lead. In the 42nd minute, Hampson gave The Hall one of its best chances of the contest as her shot required a strong save made by the Explorers' keeper that went out of bounds for a corner kick. Freshman Lily Camacho (Scotch Plains, N.J.) took the corner and drove it into the area. After bouncing in front of the net, the ball landed in front Hampson and she delivered her first goal of the season.
The Pirates came out on the right foot at the start of the second half as they controlled the pace and took ground in their attacking third. Despite out-shooting La Salle 5-0 in the final 45 minutes, it wasn't enough to at least come out with a tie in Philadelphia.
