Zavagli ties for 17th overall after a strong final round.
PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) fired a 2-over-par, 73, in Sunday's final round to assist the Seton Hall women's golf team to an 11th place finish at the Princeton Invitational.

Zavagli, the Pirates' leader after two rounds, was again the team's top performer on Sunday. She had four birdies in route to a 2-over-par, 73, in round three, which shot her six spots up the leader board. For the tournament, she tied for 17th place among 72 individual golfers with a 9-over-par, 72-77-73-222. A trio of golfers tied for the individual lead at 2-under0par.

As a team, The Hall shot a 26-over-par, 310, in round three. For the tournament, the Pirates placed 11th with a 71-over-par, 307-306-310-923. BIG EAST foe Georgetown won the team title at 10-over-par, while another conference opponent, St. John's, placed eighth at 62-over-par.

Junior Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain) closed out her first tournament of the fall with a 5-over-par, 76, in round three. For the tournament, she tied for 36th place with a 16-over-par, 78-75-76-229.

Sophomore Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) had two birdies on Sunday on her way to a 9-over-par, 80. For the event, she shot a career-best 22-over-par, 78-77-80-235. Her second-round 77 was also a career-low.

Freshman Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) had 13 pars in round three. She completed her first collegiate tournament with a 24-over-par, 79-77-81-237.

Sophomore Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) rounded out the Pirates scoring for the tournament with a 38-over-par, 84-82-85-251.

THE COURSE:
Dating back to 1895, Springdale Golf Club is one of the oldest in New Jersey. Designed by Gerard Lambert and revised by William Flynn in 1926, the walkable course requires precision shot-making and has superior conditions and playability. The property, which was originally private farmland, was purchased by the Class of 1886 and gifted to Princeton University with the expectation of establishing one of the first courses in the region. The private club has a close relationship with the University, and counts many university professors, administrators and students among its members.  With a fine and experienced PGA staff, the club hosts numerous tournaments, collegiate matches, clinics and golf outings every year.Â

In addition to Seton Hall and host Princeton, the field was comprised of 10 other teams including: Albany, Boston University, Columbia, Dartmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Harvard, Holy Cross and Penn. A pair of BIG EAST opponents, Georgetown and St. John's are also in the field.
