Kevin Cary Named BIG EAST Athlete of The Week

NEW YORK - Coming off a week where he registered personal bests during the Pirates' 114-90, junior Kevin Cary (West Chester, Pa.) has been named BIG EAST Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Cary is in the midst of a dominant 2024-25 campaign that has seen him claim victory in every event he has entered. Against Monmouth this week, Cary anchored the event-winning 400 Medley relay that opened the meet with a time of 1:32.42. In his individual program, he proceeded to have a career day. In the 200 Freestyle, Cary dominated the competition by four seconds with a career-best time of 1:52.05. After the first 100 of the race, He held a two second lead. Later, in the 100 Freestyle, Cary laid down the gauntlet and claimed victory by over one-and-a-half seconds with a 45.97.
The Pirates' swimmers are back in the pool on Saturday, October 26, when they travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, for the Bucknell Fall Invitational.
