
Eads Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week; Catalon Honor Roll

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) was named BIG EAST Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week and  Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll status on Monday.

Eads had the best two-game stretch of her young career last week in a pair of Seton Hall victories over Sacred Heart and Le Moyne. The freshman had 11 points to go with a career-high seven rebounds and two assists against Sacred Heart on Monday. On Saturday against Le Moyne, Eads erupted for a career-high 19 points, on the strength of 4-for-8 shooting from three-point range, to go with five rebounds, five assists and two steals in a terrific all-around performance.

Catalon continued her strong sophomore season with a pair of big efforts last week. The guard tallied her third-straight 20-point game with 20 against Sacred Heart on Monday. She also added four assists, three rebounds and three steals in a strong all-round performance. On Saturday, she collected 13 points on the strength of three made three-pointers to go with four rebounds, three assists and three steals before she left the game with an injury in the third quarter.

Connecticut's Paige Bueckers was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Those joining Catalon on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: DePaul's Jorie Allen, Marquette's Lee Volker, St. John's Lashae Dwyer and Villanova's Maddie Webber.

Seton Hall will return to action tomorrow when it faces #4 LSU as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. Tip time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET. The game will be televised nationally on FS1.
