
Rane Fuels Pirates to 12th Place at Columbia Classic

MELBOURNE, FLA. – Freshman Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) shot a 2-over-par, 74, in Monday's final round to help lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to a 12th place finish at the Columbia Classic at Duran Golf Club.

Rane put forth her top round of the event, shaving off four strokes from her second-round score. She used three birdies and 10 pars to fuel a 2-under-par, 74, on Monday and shoot up the final scoreboard. For the three-day event, Rane tied for 36th place with a 13-over-par, 77-78-74-229.

As a team, The Hall popped up one spot in the final team leaderboard after a 21-over-par, 309, on Monday. For the 54-hole event, the Pirates placed 12th with a 54-over-par, 303-310-309-922. Yale rallied to win the team title at 7-over-par. Seton Hall's lone BIG EAST competition, St. John's, placed 13th, four strokes behind the Pirates.

The top Seton Hall performer for the event was Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain). The junior closed out her tournament with a 5-over-par, 77, on Monday. She placed 13th among 90 individual golfers with a 5-over-par, 74-70-77-221. Penn State's Michelle Cox won the individual title at 9-under-par for the tournament.

Senior Ginevra Zavagli (Rome, Italy) logged a 9-over-par, 81, on Monday. For the season-opening tournament, she tied for 57th with a 20-over-par, 78-77-81-236.

Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) shaved eight strokes off her second-round score on Monday. The sophomore had a birdie and 11 pars in route to a 6-over-par, 78. For the event, she shot a 22-over-par, 74-86-78-238.

Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) turned in her best round of the young spring season with an 8-over-par, 80, on Monday. For the three-day event, she was 35-over-par with an 86-85-80-251.

Competing as an individual, freshman Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) closed out her first collegiate tournament with an encouraging 7-over-par, 79. For the tournament, she shot a 38-over-par, 88-87-79-254.
