
Gras Leads Pirates in Final Round at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Amelie Gras (Elancourt, France) shot a 3-over-par, 74, in the final round of the 2024 Princeton Invitational to help lift the Seton Hall women's golf team to an eighth-place finish on Sunday.

Gras had two birdies and 11 pars to fuel her third-round effort. For the tournament, she tied for 17th place with a 14-over-par, 80-73-74-227.

As a team, The Hall shot a 16-over-par, 300, in round three.  Seton Hall finished eighth with a 58-over-par, 314-296-300-910 despite wet conditions all tournament. Host Princeton won the team title by a remarkable 30 strokes at 11-over-par.

The top Seton Hall performer for the tournament was Ana Sarrias Pro (Cadiz, Spain). The senior had a birdie and 12 pars in route to a 4-over-par, 75, on Sunday. For the tournament, she tied for 14th place among 75 individual golfers with a 11-over-par, 76-73-75-224.

Freshman Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) was 7-over-par for a 78 on Sunday. Â For the three-round event, she tied for 17th place with her classmate Amelie Gras with a 14-over-par, 74-75-78-227.

Junior Anne-Sofie Ekman (Copenhagen, Denmark) had four birdies and seven pars on Sunday on her way to a 4-over-par, 75. For the 54-hole tournament, she tied for 58th place with a 28-over-par, 84-82-75-241.Â

Sophomore Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) shot a 10-over-par, 81, in round three. For the tournament, she was 30-over-par with an 87-75-81-243.

Classmate Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) turned in her best effort of the tournament in round three, a 5-over-par, 76.

Competing as an individual, junior Lara Todorovic (Belgrade, Serbia) had 11 pars in route to a 7-over-par, 78, on Sunday. For the tournament, she was 31-over-par with an 81-85-78-244.Â

THE COURSE
Dating back to 1895, Springdale Golf Club is one of the oldest in New Jersey. Designed by Gerard Lambert and revised by William Flynn in 1926, the walkable course requires precision shot-making and has superior conditions and playability. The property, which was originally private farmland, was purchased by the Class of 1886 and gifted to Princeton University with the expectation of establishing one of the first courses in the region. The private club has a close relationship with the University, and counts many university professors, administrators and students among its members.  With a fine and experienced PGA staff, the club hosts numerous tournaments, collegiate matches, clinics and golf outings every year.Â

In addition to Seton Hall and host Princeton, the field was comprised of 10 other teams including: Albany, Boston University, Columbia, Dartmouth, FDU, Harvard, Pennsylvania and Yale. Also joining the field are two BIG EAST opponents: Georgetown and St. John's.

Teams played six golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.
