NEWARK, N.J. – Off the back of strong runs from Aakash Arumugam and Logan Brunozzi, Seton Hall men's cross country reached new heights this season, winning the team's first Metropolitan Championship with 52 points in a nine-team field.
The win marked Head Coach Jacob Simon's first win at the helm of the Pirates. Additionally, it was also The Hall's first win since the 2023 Dutchmen Invitational.
How it Happened
Just like the last three meets, Aakash Arumugam continued his dominant sophomore campaign by running all the way to second place at the Metropolitan Championships. With a time of 24:29.0, the Californian secured his fourth consecutive meet atop the Pirates' timing table.
Only 14 seconds behind Arumugam, senior Logan Brunozzi crossed the line in third place, rounding out the podium, with a time of 24:43.00. His second-place intra-squad finish extended his streak as a top-three Pirate finisher to 13 meets.
Senior Stephen Beaman collected another top-ten finish for the Pirates, securing seventh-place overall with a time of 25:05.00. This was Beaman's 11th consecutive meet as a top-three Pirate finisher.
