SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Coming off a 2-0-0 week that featured a crucial BIG EAST win over St. John's, the Seton Hall men's soccer team re-entered the United Soccer Coaches Poll at No. 21 in the rankings released on Tuesday afternoon. This is the Pirates' second week in the rankings this season, with the team last appearing on Oct. 7, 2025, at No. 21.
The Pirates are one of three BIG EAST teams in the current top-25, joining No. 13 Georgetown and No. 20 Akron. Two other opponents The Hall has faced this year, Princeton and Saint Louis, are ranked at No. 5 and No. 22, respectively.
The Hall opened the week with a dominant 5-1 victory over Lehigh to close out non-conference play. Across the 90 minutes, four different Pirates scored, including Mikkel Lejbowicz, who bagged a brace to take the team lead in goals scored this season.
In BIG EAST play, the Pirates traveled to Queens, N.Y., to take on St. John's in a crucial matchup. While Matias Molina and the Pirates' defense hounded the Red Storm defensively, Lejbowicz once again provided the deciding goal to secure the 1-0 victory. It was the Pirates' first win at St. John's since the 2020 COVID-shortened season and their sixth win all-time there.
In head coach Andreas Lindberg's tenure, Seton Hall appeared in the United Soccer Coaches top-25 at least once in five of his eight seasons and 21 weeks overall. The Pirates were ranked seven times last season, peaking at No. 8, the highest they had been since reaching No. 6 in their seven-week run during the truncated 2020 season.
No. 21 Seton Hall will travel to Omaha, Neb., on Saturday, to face the Creighton Blue Jays at Morrison Stadium at 5 p.m. The game is free to attend and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
