NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Â
She's the third different Pirate in the season's first three weeks to earn the impressive distinction.
Â
Catalon was the driving force behind Seton Hall's double-overtime victory against Fordham on Nov. 20. The junior scored 20 total points in the game and saved 15 of her points for the fourth quarter and overtime periods. Catalon scored eight of Seton Hall's final nine points in regulation, and made two free throws with 0.9 seconds remaining to force overtime. In the second overtime, she hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 2:06 left to play. Catalon also tied for the team lead with eight rebounds to go with three assists and three steals.
Â
For the game, Catalon was 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. It's the fourth time in her career that she's made all of her free-throws with a minimum of 10 attempts.
Â
Connecticut's Azzi Fudd and Bianca Quinonez were named BIG EAST Player of the Week and BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, respectively. Those joining Catalon on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Marquette's Halle Vice, Providence's Sabou Gueye, Villanova's Ryanne Allen and Xavier's Mariyah Noel.
Â
Seton Hall will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 2 when it makes the short trip to Princeton. Tip time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live by ESPN+.
