KANSAS CITY, MO. – United Soccer Coaches and the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) have announced that defender Agustin Resch (Arata, Argentina) was named one of the 15 men's semifinalists for the 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy, based on voting by NCAA Division I Men's soccer coaches.
The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer and has been awarded annually since 1967. Most recently, Michael Adedokun (Ohio State) and Kate Faasse (North Carolina) received the award for outstanding intercollegiate performances last year.
Resch, the unanimous Preseason BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year, was a disruptive force at the center of a Seton Hall defense that ranked 26th and 39th nationally in goals allowed average (0.832 GAA) and goal differential (+14), respectively.
At season's end, he was named both All-BIG EAST First Team and BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. Resch's DPOY win made him only the second player in program history to receive the BIG EAST's top defensive honor, joining Seton Hall Athletics Hall of Famer George Nazario, who received the same honor in 1990.
Three men's finalists will be named for the award on Wednesday, Dec. 17 after voting by NCAA Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches. The 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy winner will then be announced at a press conference at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 9, 2026, followed by a dinner to celebrate all of the 2025 finalists.
Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite player. Go to machermanntrophy.com for the men's semifinal ballot.
