Aguilar Named BIG EAST Female Co-Golfer of the Week

NEW YORK – Seton Hall freshman Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) was named BIG EAST Female Co-Golfer of the Week on Monday.

It's the second time she's earned the honor this academic year.

Freshman Marta Aguilar shot a tournament-best 1-under-par, 71, to vault up the leaderboard and win the individual title of the Northern Kentucky Invitational on March 9. Aguilar had three birdies and 14 pars in a dazzling second round to claim her second collegiate individual title by one stroke. She completed the tournament at 6-over-par with a 79-71-150. This is her second individual championship in only seven collegiate tournaments. She was named co-champion of the Albany Invitational in the fall.

Aguilar and the rest of the Pirates will return to the course with three rounds of golf at the Georgia State Invitational, March 24-25, at Rivermont Golf Course in John's Creek, Ga.
