The freshman was also named to the BIG EAST All-Conference Team.
NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) was named BIG EAST Women's Golf Freshman of the Year and to the All-BIG EAST First Team by the BIG EAST Conference on Friday.
Â
Aguliar joins former Pirate Mia Kness (2018) as the only golfers in program history to be named BIG EAST Freshman of the Year. She's also the first Seton Hall player to be named to the All-Conference Team since Margot Bechadergue in 2022.
Â
Aguilar is coming off a historically successful first campaign in South Orange. The freshman earned BIG EAST Golfer of the Week honors three times, had six top-10 finishes, and won both the Albany Invitational and the Northern Kentucky Invitational, all in her first 10 collegiate tournaments. She's already tied for the most career wins in program history. Her six sub-par rounds this year is already tied for fifth-most for a career ever at Seton Hall and her 74.46 stroke average is the best freshman mark and the second-highest single-year mark overall.
Â
Aguliar is coming off a third-place tie at the 2025 BIG EAST Championship at Riverton Pointe Golf and Country Club, which earned her BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors.
