JERSEY CITY – Freshman Sadie Reich (Wantagh, N.Y.) had a career-high 18 kills and the Seton Hall women's volleyball team rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Saint Peter's, 3-1 (22-25, 28-26, 25-22, 25-16), on Wednesday.
Â
The Hall rallied for victory after being down a set for the first time this season. An epic 28-26 victory in the second fame, which featured 15 ties and eight lead changes, proved to be the momentum changer. After that, the Pirates cruised to their fourth win of the young season.
Â
Reich was again excellent, collecting a match-high 18 kills to go with seven kills. Junior Rylee Nelson (Mazeppa, Minn.) tallied a team-high 13 digs in her return from injury. Freshman Daria Safian (Moscow, Russia) had a strong match with 12 kills, only two attack errors, a .323 attack percentage and four blocks.

Â
SET 3:
Seton Hall again led for the majority of the set, but Saint Peter's took their first lead of set three late, 17-16. The Pirates responded with five of the next six points, and block by Safian and Subasili gave them a 21-18 lead and forced a Peacocks timeout. Saint Peter's closed the gap to 22-21, but The Hall closed out the set with three of the final four points, and a kill by Loiselle gave it a 25-22 victory.
