Seton Hall has three opponents on tap this week. The Hall will make the short trip to Jersey City on Wednesday for a mid-week tilt at Saint Peter's. Match time is 6:00 p.m. This weekend, the Pirates will play at the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge, Mass. Seton Hall will face Washington State on Saturday at 4:00 p.m., followed by host Harvard on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Tuesday's match at Saint Peter's will be streamed by the Peacocks Digital Network. This weekend's contests against Washington State and Harvard will both be carried by ESPN+. All three contests will also have live stats capabilities.

LAST WEEKEND
Seton Hall went 2-1 last weekend when it made its 2025 Walsh Gymnasium debut for the Seton Hall Classic. The Pirates swept Iona on Friday, but were upset by NJIT on Saturday in four sets. On Sunday, The Hall bounced back with a convincing sweep of Central Connecticut State.

Freshman Sadie Reich (Wantagh, N.Y.) was named tournament Most Valuable Player after averaging 4.00 kills per set over three matches and had a remarkable .380 attack percentage. Sophomore Gwen Adler (Barrington, Ill.) also had a big weekend, averaging team bests of 5.90 assists per set and 3.90 digs per set.

SCOUTING SAINT PETER'S
Seton Hall and Saint Peter's will continue their long-time rivalry on Wednesday. The Pirates own a 15-4 all-time series lead and have won the last three meetings, including a sweep in Walsh Gym in their last match in 2023.

The Peacocks are coming off a 6-19 season a year ago, which included a 4-14 mark in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play. The Peacocks are bringing back nine returners for the 2025 campaign, including four seniors, Cleopatra Diakou, Elena Bilhartz, Liz Reyes Pagán and Sydney Kuzma.   They also made 10 new additions to the team this year, four of whom are transfers and six of whom are freshmen.

This season, Saint Peter's was picked to finish 11th in the 12-team MAAC Preseason Poll, according to the conference's coaches. The Peacocks opened the season at the Holly Young Invitational in Durham, N.H. and dropped two of three matches, but defeated Holy Cross in five sets. Last week, they fared much better defeating NJIT and Mercyhurst in four sets before falling this time to Holy Cross in five sets.

SCOUTING WASHINGTON STATE
Seton Hall and Washington State will meet for only the second time in history on Saturday. The lone prior meeting was a five-set victory for the Cougars during the 2013 season.

Washington State is coming off a 16-12 overall record last season, which included an 11-7 mark in West Coast Conference (WCC) play. They decided to play in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship, but was swept in the first round by Utah Valley.

This season, Washington State was picked to finish fourth in the 12-team WCC, according to the preseason coaches' poll. Sophomore Lucie Blažková was named to the All-WCC Preseason Team.

The Cougars enter the weekend with a 3-3 overall record with two of their three losses coming to nationally-ranked programs. They opened the season with a sweep of Lafayette at the Utah Classic, but then fell in four sets to No. 24 Dayton and was swept by No. 23 Utah. Last weekend, Washington State scored a pair of four-set victories over Northern Arizona and East Texas A&M, but fell in five sets at Grand Canyon.

SCOUTING HARVARD
This will be the first-ever meeting between Seton Hall and Harvard.

Harvard is coming off a 10-13 season in 2024, which included a 5-9 mark in Ivy League play. They finished the season with a five-match losing streak and missed out on any postseason contention.

The 2025 Crimson returns three of its four top attackers from last season. Brynne Faltinsky (304), Ryleigh Patterson (186), and Peyton Hollis (122) each surpassed triple-digit kills in 2024. Faltinsky is poised for a dominant senior season after a junior campaign comprised of over 300 kills and a kill-per-set average of 3.49, ranking as the fifth-best in the Ivy League. Harvard was picked to finish sixth in the eight-team Ivy League according to the preseason coaches poll.

Harvard opened the season last weekend with a trio of losses. The Crimson was swept by Howard in the season-opener, and fell in four-set contests to North Florida and Presbyterian College as part of the UNF Invitational.

UP NEXT
After the Harvard Invitational, the Pirates will play one final non-conference tournament, the Maryland Invitational, Sept. 19-20. The Hall will face host Maryland on Friday and Coppin State on Saturday.
