NEW BRITAIN, CONN. – Seton Hall Men's cross country competed in its biggest race of the season on Saturday at the Ted Owen Invitational, placing fifth with 124 total points.

How it Happened
For the Pirates, the story the timing sheets told was one of climbing through the field. Despite getting stuck in the middle of the field at the start of the race, the trio of Aakash Arumugam, Logan Brunozzi and Stephen Beaman deftly maneuvered their way through the field like a hunting pack in search of pray. Arumugam gained 37 places over the course of his run, finishing 24th overall with a time of 26:24.10. This was the Californian's second-straight meet as The Hall's top finisher.
Â
Brunozzi, as the second member of the pack, came home only a second behind the Californian in 25th place with a time of 26:25.10.
Â
Despite maintaining pace with the pair ahead of him for the majority of the race, Beaman lost ground in the final mile to finish in 32nd place overall as the third Pirate finisher. Beaman's time of 26:41.50 pushed his streak of being a top-three Pirate finisher to nine races.
Â
The final finisher inside the top 50 for the Pirates was junior Michael Kelton. Kelton's race went similarly to Beaman's where, despite being strong for the majority of the race, he lost ground in the final mile to finish in 47th place overall with a time of 27:22.40.
Â
Rounding out the scoring squad, narrowly beating out teammate Zach Doneth by 0.9 seconds, was Jeffery Grynaviski. While the junior gained 28 places over the course of the race, his time of 27:31.50 was only good enough for 54th place overall.
