NEW YORK – Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Kleinsmith (Monument, Colo.) has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Monday. This marks Kleinsmith's fourth weekly honor from the league so far this season.
Kleinsmith posted her eighth shutout of the season on Saturday night in the 1-0 win over Georgetown, giving the Pirates their first win over the Hoyas since 2011. Kleinsmith made eight saves to earn the clean sheet, and in the process set the new single-season program mark for shutouts. Kleinsmith also added four saves in Wednesday night's contest against Villanova.
The Pirates return home for their final two home games of the season this week, starting with a showdown with Marquette on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
