FARMINGTON, PA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will return to tournament action for three rounds of golf at the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, hosted by West Virginia University, Oct. 5-6, at Mystic Rock Golf Course.
Â
Individuals will again play as part of the Shepherd's Rock Individual simultaneously.
Â
Tournament Details:
NEMACOLIN COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL
Host:Â West Virginia University
Location:Â Farmington, Pa.
Course:Â Mystic Rock Golf Course
Course Vitals:Â Par-72, 7,526 yards
Dates:Â October 5-6, 2026
Â
THE COURSE:
Mystic Rock, the dream of Nemacolin's founder, Joseph A. Hardy III, brought to life by prominent designer Pete Dye, is one of the country's finest golf courses. Â Perched atop the Pennsylvania Allegheny Mountains, the 7,526-yard Mystic Rock spans acres of the scenic Laurel Highlands, offering players championship-level golf in a spectacular setting.
Â
Nemacolin and Golf Architect Tim Liddy partnered with Pete Dye — before Dye's passing — with designs for an impressive and extensive bunker renovation to Mystic Rock, which was completed in 2021.  The transformation to upgrade the bunkers, playing surfaces, and tee boxes solidifies Mystic Rock as one of the premier mountain courses in the country.
Â
THE FIELD:
In addition to Seton Hall and host West Virginia, the field includes 14 other schools: Campbell,  Delaware, Drexel, Eastern Michigan, George Mason, Geoge Washington, Murray State, Rider, Robert Morris, Saint Joseph's, Towson and William & Mary. BIG EAST foes Connecticut and St. John's are also in the field.
Â
THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.
Â
THE LINEUP:
Here's the season-opening lineup for the Pirates…
De Jesus will compete in the Shepherd's Rock Individual, a tournament also going on at Mystic Rock at the same time for those not part of their team scoring.
Â
LAST TIME OUT:
Junior Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.) shot an even-par, 70, to tie for second place and lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a second-place finish at the storm-shortened Macdonald Cup on Sept. 25.
Â
Due to a ferocious nor'easter blanketing the East Coast, the Macdonald Cup, originally scheduled for three rounds, was forced to shorten to just 18 holes. Tournament officials were hoping to get at least a second round in on Saturday, but the declining weather forced their hand to end the event.
Â
Hennessee had two birdies and 14 pars in route to his even-par, 70. He finished tied for second among 68 individual golfers, two strokes behind the individual champion, Harvard's Alex Zhang. It's Hennessee's third-consecutive top-10 finish to start the 2026-27 year and the sixth of his career.
Â
As a team, The Hall placed second with a 15-over-par, 295, yesterday, despite battling wind gusts as high as 35-miles per hour. Harvard won the team title at 9-over-par. The Pirates have now placed in the top-3 in all three of their tournaments this fall. The Hall is now averaging just 284.86 strokes per round.
Â
LAST TIME AT MYSTIC ROCK:
Jace Hulett fired a 2-under-par, 70, in the final round to win the title of the Shepherd's Rock Individual by two strokes. In the team event, the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational, Will Hennessee shot a 4-under-par, 68, to lift the Seton Hall men's golf team to a third-place finish.
Â
In the team event, the Pirates turned in their third-consecutive sub-par round on Tuesday, firing a 2-under-par, 286. The Hall finished the tournament in third place with a 17-under-par, 282-279-286-847. Host West Virginia won the team event at 36-under-par. Western Carolina finished second, just one stroke ahead of the Pirates.
Â
THE SCHEDULE:
The teams will play two continuous rounds on Monday beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. A final round will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
