NEW YORK – Junior guard Budd Clark has been named to BIG EAST Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning.
The Philadelphia native had a banner week in helping lead the Pirates to a pair of home victories. Clark averaged 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.0 steals and shot 50 percent from the field. Clark had a great all-around game on Wednesday in the win over Xavier, finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. He became the first Pirate since Jeremy Hazell in January, 2011 to post at least those totals in those categories in a game. Clark followed that up with a 19-point outing paired with six assists on Saturday in the win over Marquette.
Clark and the Pirates hit the road for a pair of matchups at Villanova (Wed., 6:30 p.m.) and at Creighton (Sat., 6:00 p.m.).
