Hennessee Shines in Round Two; Pirates Ninth at Bandon Dunes

BANDON, ORE. – All seven members of the Seton Hall men's golf team shot 3-over-par or better in the second round of the Bandon Dunes Championship on Monday.

The top Pirate of the second round, unfortunately for Seton Hall's team score, was playing as an individual, Will Hennessee (Tulsa, Okla.). The sophomore had four birdies and an eagle on the par-5, No. 15 hole to fuel a 3-under-par, 68, on Monday. For the tournament, Hennessee is in 14th place among 96 individual golfers with a 2-under-par, 72-68-140. Oregon State's Nguyen Anh Minh continues to lead the field by three strokes at 11-under-par.

As a team, The Hall shot a 9-over-par, 293, in round two on Monday and are tied with Idaho and Air Force for ninth place in the highly-talented field. For the tournament, the Pirates are 13-over-par with a 288-293-581. Oregon State currently leads the field by 10 strokes at 24-under-par after two rounds.

Senior David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) continues to be the top performer in the Seton Hall lineup this tournament. On Monday, he had five birdies in route to a 2-over-par, 73. For the tournament, he's tied for 21st place with an even-par, 69-73-142.

Freshman Blake Goodnight (Dallas, Texas) had three birdies and 11 pars in round two on his way to a 2-over-par, 73. For the three-day event, he's tied for 28th place with a 1-over-par, 70-73-143.

Junior Isaiah Williams (Flemington, N.J.) and Luke Nolan (Austin, Texas) are currently tied for 60th place after two rounds at 6-over-par. Williams had a 2-over-par, 73, in round three, and has a 75-73-148 for the tournament, while Nolan tallied a 3-over-par, 74, in round two, and has carded a 74-74-148 overall.

George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) had five birdies in round two and was three strokes better than round one with a 3-over-par, 74. For the tournament, he has a 9-over-par, 77-74-151.

Eli Shah (Newtown Square, Pa.) joins Hennessee in competing as individuals this week. The junior shaved a stroke off his first-round score and had three birdies in route to a 1-over-par, 72. For the tournament, he's tied for 42nd with a 3-over-par, 73-72-145.

The course is completely natural and routed through an environment of indigenous vegetation. Beyond breathtaking scenery lies the game of golf in its truest form. This is a thinker's course. Winds are ever-present, and the varying elements create a new experience each time you play.

In addition to Seton Hall and host Idaho, the highly-competitive field includes 13 other teams including:Â Air Force, Denver, Eastern Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, Pennsylvania, Sacramento State, Santa Clara, Seattle University, SIU Edwardsville, Utah Tech, Utah Valley and Wofford.

THE FORMAT:
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

THE SCHEDULE:
The field will play three rounds over three days with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. ET each day. The Hall will be paired with golfers from Pennsylvania in round one starting on tees No. 5 through No. 7.
