Aguilar Named BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week

NEW YORK – Seton Hall junior Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) was named BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week on Thursday.

It's already the seventh time in her career that she's received the weekly recognition.

Aguilar shot a 1-over-par, 73, on Tuesday to win the individual title of the Charge at Quail Valley and lead Seton Hall women's golf team to its first team victory in the head coach Jackie Mullens era. For the tournament, she carded a 1-over-par, 72-72-73-217, to claim the individual title by five strokes over Lehigh's Lilly Riegger, who placed second. Aguilar's victory is the fifth of her remarkable career, which extends her own program record. Only two others in Seton Hall history, Mia Kness and Erin McClure, have won multiple tournament titles.

Aguilar and the rest of the Pirates will return to the course for three rounds of golf at the Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club, Sept. 26-27.
