South Orange, N.J. – Gianna Angelillo and Macie Mietz each scored second half goals as the Seton Hall women's soccer team earned a 2-0 win over Saint Peter's on Thursday night. With the win, the Pirates open the season 4-0-0 for the first time since 2012.

This also serves as the first time in program history in which the Pirates have gone unbeaten through four matches in consecutive seasons. It is also the first time since 2022 the team has recorded three consecutive clean sheets.

How it Happened
Seton Hall controlled the flow of the game throughout all 90 minutes, holding a 19-2 advantage in shots by the end of the match. However, things were scoreless after the first 45 minutes despite eight of the nine shots in the match to that point belonging to the Pirates. The hosts continued knocking on the door before finally breaking through midway through the second half.

In the 69^th minute, pristine passing moved the ball into the attacking third where it found the foot of Angelillo. The senior struck one from over 30 yards out, glancing off the bottom of the crossbar and into the back of the net for a spectacular ice-breaking goal.

Just over 10 minutes later in the 80^th minute, the Pirates would strike again. Sabrina Campbell moved the ball into the Seton Hall attacking half and found Kaylin Mallon down the near side. She crossed a ball to the far side of the penalty area, where Mietz fired one past the keeper for her second goal in as many matches.
