Stewart Leads Hall on First Day of Nittany Lion Invite

STATE COLLEGE, PA. – Sophomore Isabella Stewart (Wickow, Ireland) is just 2-over-par and has paced the Seton Hall women's golf team to a 14^th place standing after two rounds of the Nittany Lion Invitational on Monday.

Stewart had four birdies in round one and followed it up with a birdie and 15 pars in round two to fuel a pair of 1-over-par, 73's. For the tournament, she's tied for 39^th place among 90 individuals with a 2-over-par, 73-73-146.

Virginia Tech's Valentine Deion is currently the individual leader at 9-under-par entering Tuesday's final round.

Collectively, The Hall is currently in 15th place after 36 holes. The Pirates shot a 21-over-par, 309, in the morning, and followed it up with a 13-over-par, 301, in the afternoon. For the event, Seton Hall is 34-over-par with a 309-301-610.

Maryland is currently the team leader at 13-under-par. Virginia Tech is second at 12-under-par.

Junior Marta Aguilar (Casares Malaga, Spain) and Kasumi Tran (Swansea, Wales) are currently tied for 60^th place at 8-over-par. Aguilar, a two-time All-BIG EAST performer, shot a 5-over-par, 77, in round one, but followed it up with three birdies in the afternoon in route to a 3-over-par, 75. Tran shot an 8-over-par, 80, in round one, but had four birdies in a sparkling even-par, 72, in round two, the top round for any Pirate through 36 holes.

Senior Renee Rane (New Delhi, India) shot a 7-over-par, 79, in round one, and followed it up with a 9-over-par, 81, in round two. She's currently 16-over-par with a 79-81-160.

Rounding out the Pirates' lineup, freshman Laney Bae (Huntington Beach, Calif.) shot a 12-over-par, 84, in round one, followed by an 11-over-par, 83, in round two. She's currently 23-over-par with an 84-83-167.

THE FIELD
In addition to Seton Hall and host Penn State, the field is comprised of 16 other teams including: Akron, Bucknell, Delaware, Duquesne, Harvard, James Madison, Lehigh, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, Towson, Virginia Tech, Yale and Youngstown State.

THE FORMAT
Teams will play five golfers and count the four lowest scores per round.

SCHEDULE
The field will play two continuous rounds (36 holes) on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m., and a single, final round on Tuesday. Tuesday's shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m.
