Meyers Helps Volleyball Bounce Back against DePaul

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Sophomore Tricia Meyers (Cincinnati, Ohio) helped lead the Seton Hall volleyball team on Sunday, as they defeated DePaul in three games, (30-26, 31-29, 31-29), at Walsh Gym. After losing to Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon, the Pirates (10-7) fell behind early in all three games against DePaul. Seton Hall was able to stage comebacks in all three games to even their BIG EAST record at 2-2. The Blue Demons fall to 4-13 (0-3 BE) on the season.
Meyers had 18 kills, a hitting percentage of .571, and she posted seven blocks. For the rest of the Pirates, freshman Stacey Craighead (
DePaul led most of the way in game one, but the Pirates managed to keep the deficit within reach. Seton Hall tied the game at 21, and took their first lead of the game at 23-22. The Pirates held onto the lead and took game one 30-26.

The Pirates found themselves playing from behind again at the start of game three, DePaul took a 10-6 lead, but Seton Hall put together a 9-2 run to take the lead at 15-12. The Pirates were only able to extend that lead to four, as the Blue Demons hung around and tied the game at 29-29. Another Craighead kill and a DePaul attack error sealed the game and match for the Pirates.
