Seton Hall and Maryland will meet for the fifth time with the Terrapins having won three of the prior four all-time matches. Last year, Maryland swept The Hall in this tournament. The Terrapins are coming off an 8-22 overall record, which included a 1-19 mark in Big Ten play.

This season, Maryland is picked to finish last in the 18-team Big Ten Conference according to the 2026 Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Terrapins have gotten off to a solid start and enter the weekend with a 4-1 record and a three-match win streak. Most recently, Maryland is coming off of sweeps against UMES on Saturday and George Mason on Sunday. Haley Melby leads the team with 3.44 kills per set, while Raina Chwialkowski is tops on the team with 4.19 digs per set.

Seton Hall and Princeton will meet on Saturday with the Tigers owning an 8-5 all-time series lead. The teams haven't played since a four-set victory by Princeton in 2022.Â

Princeton is coming off a stellar 18-7 season in 2025, which included an 11-3 mark in Ivy League play. The Tigers won the Ivy League Tournament title, but fell to fourth-seeded USC in straight sets in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers are picked to repeat as Ivy League champions, according to the preseason coaches' poll. Princeton enters the weekend with an 0-3 record, but has faced some stiff competition early. The Tigers fell in a five-set marathon to fellow BIG EAST rival Villanova in their season opener on Friday. They then were swept by Arizona State and Colgate to finish out the weekend. Princeton is averaging under 10 kills, assists and digs per set.

Seton Hall is 16-4 all-time against Saint Peter's and has won the last four matches in the all-time series, which includes a four-set victory last season. The Peacocks are coming off a 7-22 season in 2025, which included a 2-16 mark in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play.Â

This season, Saint Peter's is picked to finish 11th in the 12-team Metro Conference, according to the Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Peacocks have also gotten off to a run start in 2026 with an 0-7 record entering the Maryland Invitational. Among common opponents, Saint Peter's lost to fellow BIG EAST competitor, Providence, in three sets in the season-opener. Most recently, they lost to Morgan State in four sets on Friday before being swept by both Towson and Loyola (Md.) on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

After the Maryland Invitational, the Pirates will make the short trip to the NJIT Invitational for three matches, Sept. 17-19. The Hall will face host NJIT on Thursday, followed by Iona on Friday and New Haven on Saturday.
