SHU wasted little time in getting on the board, going up 1-0 on a penalty kick by sophomore Kaitlyn Rogers (Parker,
Seton Hall would keep the offensive pressure on as the first half continued. After working the ball down the right side, Gross fed Rogers near the top of the box, who then slid a pass to Donofrio at point blank range for a goal that made it 3-0 in the 33rd minute.
In the 39th minute, Donofrio picked up her second goal of the day, putting home a blast from the top of the box into the right corner of the net for a 4-0 lead. SHU made it a five-goal lead in the 44th minute when Gross found Ashley Reinecke (Toms River, N.J.) in front of the net from 20 yards out for a score into the top left corner.
The final Pirate goal of the day came in the 58th minute when Katherine De Tata (Brick, N.J.) knocked in a rebound off a Gross shot to make it 6-0. The Knights picked up their lone goal when Tonya Hipsman beat two SHU defenders down the middle and snuck a shot past Pirate goaltender Amanda Becker (
SHU completely dominated the match, outshooting FDU 22-3. Most of the action took place in the Knight territory as the Pirates put 12 shots on goal. Donofrio and Gross both finished the day with five points.
