SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall volleyball team will travel to Notre Dame and DePaul this weekend with hopes of enhancing its place in the BIG EAST standings. The Pirates are 9-15 overall and hold a 3-5 conference mark, which pits them two matches out of the final BIG EAST Championship spot with six to play.

SCOUTING THE IRISH
Notre Dame comes into the weekend as one of the hottest teams in the country, winners of eight straight and 11 of its last 12. The Irish have three players averaging more than three kills per set, and are led by Serinity Phillips averaging 3.71 scores. Notre Dame has also shown a knack for coming up with blocks, averaging 2.4 per set, and have three players racking more than a rejection per set.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEMONS
DePaul is still looking for its first BIG EAST win of the season and have dropped 11 straight decisions. Sarah Cullen is the squad's top player, leading the team in kills (3.09 per set) and digs (3.09 per set).
WIZARD OF OZ
Junior Sarah Osmun became just the seventh player in school history to eclipse 1,000-career kills. She has compiled 1,052 kills in under three seasons and needs just 51 more scores to crack the top-five.

BEAT THE STREAK
In addition to setting a new school record, Allie Matters is in the midst of an impressive streak. Matters has notched double-figure digs in 60-straight matches, dating back to the end of the 2007 season, which ranks as the longest active streak in the nation.

HANNAH LENDS HELPING HAND
Freshman Hannah Hugeback made her first career starts against Louisville and Cincinnati, and has proved she belongs, notching double-figure kills in the last three matches. Against the Cardinals, Hugeback posted her first career double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. On Sunday, she set another career-high with 12 kills.
TRU-CALLING
Freshman setter Olivia Trudeau has been a solid addition to SHU this season, posting eight double-doubles on the season. In a win over Georgetown, she posted a career-best 54 assists. Trudeau is the first player other than Brittany Rahrer to reach that plateau since 2004.
PROGRAM MILESTONE AHEAD
With its next victory, Seton Hall will hit the 500-win plateau. In the programs' 31st season of competition the Pirates have an all-time record of 499-508.
EXCORSING THE ROAD DEMONS
The Pirates have two road victories on the season, already surpassing their 2008 total. SHU has lost 17 of its last 20 road matches dating back to 2007.
