
Cross Country Competes at Iona Meet of Champions

BRONX, N.Y. - The Seton Hall cross country team continued its season at the Iona Meet of Champions on Saturday morning. The women's team placed 20th, while the men were 22nd.
On the women's side, senior Diane Szaflarski (Clifton, N.J.) finished in 26:00.25 to place 126th. Junior KeAira Dickerson (Wilmington, Del.) ran a time of 26:27.33 to place 139th. Freshman Eloisa Paredes (Clifton, N.J) was next to place at 147th (26:41.79). Freshman Hughnique Rolle (Nassau, Bahamas) clocked in at 27:16.36 to place 157th, and junior Madison Wrest (Edmonds, Wash.) finished 161st (27.29.66).
For the men, freshman Jared Hanko (Montville, N.J.) was the top finisher, hitting a time of 28:52.01 to place 154th. Sophomore Austin Tobleman (West Chester, Pa.) was right behind Hanko in 155th (28:52.56). Junior Dwight Parker (Randallstown, Md.) clocked in at 29:27.57 to place 171st. Senior Patrick McGovern (Granton, R.I.) crossed the finish line in 29:28.51 to finish 174th, and freshman Mamadou Niang (North Caldwell, N.J.) rounded out the Pirates' five in 189th (30:17.22).
Both teams are back in action at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday, October 9, at 1:00 p.m. in Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, N.Y.
