SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Head coach Kris Zeiter has announced that Latoya Harvin (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Amelia Keeling (Culver City, Calif.) will join the Seton Hall volleyball team this fall. Keeling and Harvin are both middle blockers and complete the 2010 class along with Kelly Palma, Alyssa Warren, and Hannah Guth.
Harvin was a first team all-conference, first team all-county, as well as an all-state honorable mention player at Royal Palm Beach High School. She was a co-captain there and finished the season ranked as the No. 1 blocker in the state of Florida and No. 13 in the nation.
"Latoya is an extremely athletic player and we are very lucky to land her this late in the recruiting process," said Zeiter. "She is going to bring a lot of quickness to the middle blocker position. She is not the biggest middle blocker, but her love for blocking and her competitiveness will make her successful. She has loads of potential and will only get better and better during her time here at Seton Hall."
Keeling played four seasons at Bishop Montgomery High School, earning Del Rey League First Team honors in 2008 and Second Team Selection in 2009. She led her team with 161 kills and 99 blocks this past fall. Keeling was a member of the PowerPlay Volleyball Club from 2007-2008 and Southern California Volleyball Club in 2009.
"I am looking forward to having Amelia here in the fall," Zeiter stated. "She is an athletic player who can contribute in the middle or on the right side. She has played at a high level in California both at the high school and club level. I expect Amelia to be a very good student-athlete."
The Pirates will kick off the 2010 season on August 27 at the William and Mary Tournament.
