
Women's Soccer To Host Providence And Connecticut This Weekend

SETON HALL STATUS
Seton Hall will look to build on their 2-1 conference mark after going 1-1 last weekend. Freshman Katie Ritter posted five points in last weekend's match against Villanova with two goals and an assist as she continues to lead the Pirates. Entering this weekend, the Maryland native leads the team with seven goals and 15 points. Senior co-captain Katie Andreski stands second on the team with three goals including two on home soil where the Pirates are 3-1.
PROVIDENCE STATUS
Currently led by Jill Camburn and her four goals, five assists, and 13 points, the Friars enter the weekend 7-2-1 overall. Their 1-1-1 record in the conference has them standing in third place in the American Division. They travel to South Orange having won four of their six matches on the road including a, 1-0, win at St. John's last weekend.
CONNECTICUT STATUS
Connecticut began the 2010 season as the preseason favorite to finish third in the American Division, which is where they currently stand with four points. With five wins and two ties in their first 11 games, the Huskies travel to South Orange where they are 4-0 against the Pirates. Jessica Shufelt leads the team with five goals and 12 points while Melissa Busque and Elise Fugowski are tied for the team lead with three assists. In goal, Jessica Dulski has started all 11 matches posting a 1.04 goals against average in over 1,042 minutes played.

SETON HALL VS. PROVIDENCE
Since 1994, Seton Hall has posted a 7-2 record against Providence including a 3-1 mark at home. Having not played the Friars in two seasons, the Pirates won the previous match between the two programs on October 5, 2007. The Friars won the last time these teams met in New Jersey, 3-1, on October 8, 2004.
SETON HALL VS. CONNECTICUT
The Pirates will be looking for their first win against the Huskies after posting an 0-9 record since 1994. Included in the record is the Pirates 0-4 mark on home turf.

Entering play this weekend, Connecticut is tied for fifth with 18 team goals, Providence ranks seventh with 17, and Seton Hall is eighth with 16. In BIG EAST play the Hall and UConn are tied for fifth with four goals apiece. Providence ranks last with one goal.

Team-leader Katie Ritter begins the weekend ranked second in the BIG EAST with seven goals, third with three game-winning goals, and fifth with 15 points.
GIVE AN ASSIST
Senior co-captain Nicki Gross assisted on both goals scored by Ritter last Friday night to jump into third place in the conference with five this season.

Freshman standout Katie Ritter stands seventh in the Pirates single-season record books with seven goals, three behind Courtney Wood for fourth place, and ninth with 15 points, two away from a 6th place tie with Katie Herr and Carley Piagentini.

Katie Andreski enters the weekend in ninth place with 27 career points and tied with Nicki Gross for eighth with 12 goals.
GROSS ALL-TIME CAREER RECORD WATCH
In addition to being in a two-way tie with Andreski for goals, Nicki Gross ranks fifth with 37 points, and third with 13 assists and 144 shots.
GOALKEEPER ALL-TIME CAREER RECORD WATCH
Jennifer Pettigrew begins the contests this weekend fifth in saves and sixth in Goals Against Average, shutouts, and minutes played. On the other hand, Elizabeth Bond is tied for second in goals against average, fourth in shutouts, fifth in minutes played, and sixth in saves.
COLLEGE SOCCER 360 PRIMETIME PERFORMER
On Tuesday, September 21, freshman Katie Ritter was honored by earning a CS360 Primetime Performer of the Week award as she helped her team defeated #24 Rutgers, 1-0, with the lone goal 28 minutes into the match.
NEXT WEEKEND
The Pirates will take to the road for a match at #5/9 Notre Dame on Friday followed by a match at DePaul on Sunday.
