
Wilson Leads MGolf to Ninth Place

APALACHIN, N.Y. - Cory Wilson (Newton, N.J.) fired a 2-under-par, 70, in Monday's second and final round to lead the Seton Hall men's golf team to a ninth place team finish at the 2012 Binghamton University Invitational.
In only his fourth career tournament, Wilson led the Pirates in both rounds to complete the 36-hole event with an even-par, 74-70-144. The freshman tied for second place among a field of 79 golfers. Laval University's Ujo Coussaud won the individual title at 4-under-par.
Collectively, the Pirates shaved 11 strokes off their first round total and broke the 300 barrier with an 11-over-par, 299. For the tournament, Seton Hall finished with a 33-over-par, 310-299-609, 23 strokes behind the team champion, Laval University.
Four of the Pirates' five golfers improved in round two.
Sophomore Derrick Kim (New City, N.Y.) carded an even-par, 72, in Monday's round and finished the tournament with a 4-over-par, 76-72-148, to tie for 12th place overall.
Freshman David Cha (Carrollton, Texas), Marc Kunesch (Newton, N.J.) and Kevin Sanislo rounded out the scoring for Seton Hall and were all separated by just two strokes. Cha tallied a 17-over-par, 81-80-161. Kunesch was 18-over-par with an 85-77-162, while Sanislo was 19-over-par with a 79-84-163.
The Seton Hall men's golf team will return to the links this weekend when it travels to Plymouth Meeting, Pa. for the Big 5 Classic, Oct. 13-14.
