The Pirates controlled the match from the start, jumping out to an 8-2 lead in the first set. With Seton Hall already holding a 15-9 advantage, the Pirates reeled off eight straight points to give themselves a commanding 23-9 lead.
Set two was much different. Sekulova recorded seven of her team-high 13 kills in the second frame. The Pirates scored the first five points of the set and then later used a 9-2 run to take a 19-7 lead. Saint Peter's would score four straight points late, but Seton Hall rolled to a 25-14 win. Palma served up four of her six aces in set two.
The third set started off much closer with the Peacocks leading 6-5, but their advantage was short-lived and Seton Hall used a 10-2 run to turn a competitive 13-9 set into a 23-11 rout.
The Pirates will return to action on Friday, September 28 when travel to Washington, D.C. for a match with Georgetown. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 pm. Seton Hall will return home to Walsh Gym on Saturday, Oct. 13 when they host Marquette.
