WSOC Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall University women's soccer team received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year, it was announced Monday by the association.
This is the third-straight year in which the Seton Hall women's soccer program has been recognized by the NSCAA for academic excellence.
In order to receive the award, a team must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Pirates finished last year with a 3.38 cumulative GPA and had 20 team members receive BIG EAST Academic All-Star recognition.
Additionally, four women's soccer players were inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society Chi Alpha Sigma in the spring of 2014, including Rachel Friedman (Bridgewater, N.J.), Mikayla Hickey (Salem, N.H.), Kristina Meier (Paramus, N.J.) and Alyssa Stipcak (Mt. Airy, Md.) who played for the Pirates this season.
A total of 582 women's soccer programs across the nation received the award.
